This oil is extracted with a centrifuge, that is, it is separated by centrifugal or pressure forces. This method is much safer than traditional solvent extraction, which uses chemicals such as hexane to separate the oil from the avocado fruit. It has been proven that hexane has toxic and carcinogenic properties. Primal Kitchen’s avocado oil is made from avocados sourced from Mexico, although the company doesn’t go into too much detail about its sourcing methods. The oil is Non-GMO, Certified Paleo and Whole30 tested. Keep in mind that Primal Kitchen does not currently offer organic avocado oil, so it is not a good choice for people following an all-organic diet.
Primal Kitchen claims its avocado oil will last up to 18 months unopened and suggests consumers use the oil within six months of opening. Keep in mind that studies show that most avocado oils have a shelf life of less than seven months, which is significantly less than what Primal Kitchen suggests.
