Omega-3s reduce joint pain, swelling and stiffness, says science
Because omega-3 fats are anti-inflammatory and antioxidant, they also promote joint comfort and mobility, reducing pain, stiffness, and soft tissue swelling. It helps maintain longevity and independence as you age (since mobile joints will allow you to move with ease) and helps relieve joint discomfort associated with arthritis.
In 2020 Mediterranean Journal of Rheumatology Scientists analyzed a number of clinical studies that found that increasing omega-3 intake helps reduce morning stiffness, sensitivity and swelling6 joints in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Researchers hypothesize that these healthy fats may help modulate the autoimmune response and therefore may be used to treat RA symptoms.
