It might seem redundant, but we really can’t pass up this tip: If you’re starting to get anxious from too much coffee, try drinking it after breakfast. While some people can drink black coffee in the morning, others are more sensitive.
“Some people will be very sensitive to coffee, which causes an insulin response, even if the coffee is black or has only fat but no sugar,” mbg Vincent Pedre, MD, medical director of Pedre Integrative Health, previously said. “When the pancreas secretes insulin, the blood sugar level subsequently drops. And within 30-60 minutes after drinking coffee, the drop in blood sugar will cause unpleasant weakness, tremors and cravings for carbohydrates or sugar.”
In short: make eggs, a quick bowl of yogurt, avocado toast, or a protein-packed smoothie before you drink your coffee.
