Parivrtta Anjaneyasana Yoga – Parivrtta Anjaneyasana yoga is also known as Revolved Lunge Pose which is a variation of Anjaneyasana yoga. In Sanskrit ‘Parivrtta’ means ‘Revolved’, ‘Anjaneya’ means ‘Son of Anjani’ and ‘Asana’ means ‘Pose’. According to Hindu Methodology Anjaneya refers to God Hanuman. This yoga posture is good for abdominal muscles, the hip and thigh muscles and improves the sense of balance.

Steps to do Revolved Lunge Pose or Parivrtta Anjaneyasana Yoga Asana –

  • First, come into the position of Adho Mukha Svanasana or the downward facing dog pose.
  • Now support your body weight on both of feet or palms and in this position your hips raised up.
  • Exhale and slowly take your right foot forward and bend your left leg knee.
  • Make sure your left legs and knee should be touches to the floor.
  • Inhale slowly and raise your torso up.
  • Now place your both hands in front of the chest in a Namaskar position.
  • The front knee should be aligned with the ankles.
  • Now move your upper part body in the left direction as much as you can.
  • In this position, your left hand’s elbow should be resting on right leg knee.
  • Raise the head and gaze slightly upwards and sideways.
  • This is the final position of Parivrtta Anjaneyasana yoga asana.
  • Remain same in this position for a few minutes or as long as you feel comfortable.
  • Now repeat this yoga posture with another side too.
